Glavna sala muzeja vina u istorijskom vinskom selu Rogljevske pivnice / The main hall of the wine museum in the historic winemaking village of Rogljevska Pivnica
In close proximity to Negotin, on a hill above the village of Rajac, stands Ra- jačke Pimnice [Rajac wine cellars], a settlement created in the 19 th centu- ry for the express purpose of produc- ing and storing wine. That was a time when the grape phylloxera insect was attacking vines across Europe, but the Negotin Frontier region was saved by its climatic and geographi- cal conditions, and thus determined as a new region from which wine could be exported to the entire con- tinent. The whole region soon flour- ished and its wines could be found in many European courts. The French even bought grapes from the Nego- tin region during the time prior to the outbreak of World War II. The famous village of Rogljevo was constructed around 1861, and today there are ev- er-more wine lovers discovering this unique time capsule. Interesting- ly, the Negotin Frontier is the only re- gion where the black tamjanika still survives. This autochthonous Mus- cat grape variety is used to produce wines with an intense, mystical body and a fruity, herby aroma.
Nedaleko od Negotina, na brdu iznad sela Rajac, nalaze se Rajač- ke pimnice, naselje napravljeno za proizvodnju i skladištenje vina u 19. veku. U to vreme su biljne vaši na- pale vinovu lozu po Evropi, a kli- matski i geografski uslovi sačuva- li Negotinsku Krajinu i odredili je da bude novi izvoznik vina za ceo kon- tinent. Ubrzo je čitava Krajina doži- vela procvat, a vina iz ovog regiona mogla su se naći na mnogim dvo- rovima Evrope. Čak su i Francu- zi pre Drugog svetskog rata kupo- vali grožđe iz Negotinske Krajine. Čuveno selo Rogljevo izgrađeno je oko 1861, a sve je više ljubitelja vina koji otkrivaju ovu jedinstvenu vre- mensku kapsulu. Inače, Negotin- ska Krajina je jedini kraj u kojem još opstaje crna tamjanika, autohtona sorta grožđa koja daje vina inten- zivnog, mističnog mirisa i arome voća i začinskog bilja.
