LA CÉLÉBRATION DE LA JOURNÉE FRANCO-ONTARIENNE À EMBRUN

Cette journée cérémoniale s’est vu his- ser le drapeau au plus haut flottant sur les hautes sphères de la municipalité de Russell. Une animation vibrante c’est déroulé sur la place du monument de la francophonie d’Embrun. Cette célébration a réuni les franco-On- tariens de souche et les résidents venant d’autres horizons découvrant au grand jour la culture franco-ontarienne. Une journée ensoleillé, la jeunesse active de plusieurs écoles scolaires a participé activement garce aux animateurs de la place comme Felix Dion, l’Artiste Brian St Pierre et Sophie Dion qui ont été accompagné des jeunes ambassadeurs qui ont témoigné leurs amours pour le patrimoine historique et culturelle, ils ont commémoré tous les bâtisseuses et bâtisseurs qui ont été gravé sur le granite du monument de la francopho- nie d’Embrun, suivit du chant « Mon beau drapeau ». Le porte-parole du comité du monuments à été prononcé pour remercier tous les résidents qui se sont déplacés, toutes les personnalités publiques comme M. Sarrazin Stéphane Sarrazin, député de Glengarry- Prescott-Russell en compagnie de son épouse, Madame Lisa Deacon, Madame Lyne Racine Directrice du CSDCEO et tant d’autres personnalités. Il remercie aussi les organisateurs comme le club de Richelieu d’Embrun.
Are Dental Implants Worth It?
To answer that question, you have to take your current situation into account and ask yourself these questions. How many teeth are you missing? Is replacing those teeth important to you? Do you know the consequences of not replacing your teeth? Like many denture-wearers, are you worried about or embarrassed by someone discovering that you have a denture? This situation is more common than you might think. Function Denture wearers experience a 90% decrease in chewing efficiency. However, the average patient doesn’t realize that over time, they naturally compensate for this loss and adapt to the lack of function. For example, chewing a steak might be very difficult for someone who wears a full lower denture and eating an apple can be difficult for someone who has a full upper denture. People adjust to these deficiencies by cutting up their food into smaller pieces that don’t necessarily require much chewing. Comfort Comfort is a crucial issue for most denture wearers. Most often, chewing can be uncomfortable because of the pressure that is placed on the gums. Having a piece of plastic pushing onto your gums is not natural and applying the same amount of pressure as you would with your natural teeth can be difficult. Not to mention the amount of food that gets trapped underneath your dentures, creating sore spots which can affect your eating habits and take a couple of days to heal. Movement Movement and too much of it is something that all denture wearers experience. Whether the upper denture falls at an inopportune moment or the lower denture pops out mid-yawn, a loose denture is never fun. One of most embarrassing (and too common) scenarios is having your denture pop out, lift up or fall during a dinner with friends; no one should experience that. For all these reasons and much more, the value of dental implants as a replacement for missing teeth is incalculable. Take a moment and think about all of these factors and other things that are bothersome about your dentures, and you will realize how implants can help give you regain optimal oral function. There exists an excellent variety of different implants, treatments, and systems, and each solution is available at various costs. To find out more about what would work best for you, you would require a complete evaluation of your oral health and the current issues you are experiencing, as well as your goals regarding function. So are dental implants worth it? That’s a question worth thinking about. I know from my own patients’ positive feedback, every one of them who has opted for dental implants would never go back to dentures. Pour le commun des mortels, le 25 sep- tembre est d’abord l’anniversaire du premier lever du drapeau franco-ontarien qui a eu lieu en 1975 à l’Université Laurentienne à Sudbury. Ses deux créateurs, Michel Dupuis et Gaétan Gervais, ont créé un drapeau représentatif de son peuple : le trille pour l’Ontario, le lys pour la langue française, le vert pour les étés et le blanc pour les hivers. Le drapeau est devenu symbole officiel de la province en 2001. C’est seulement en 2010, que le 25 septembre est devenu le Jour des
Franco-Ontariens et des Franco-Ontariennes. La loi sur cette journée officielle, adoptée à l’unanimité le 26 avril 2010 par l’Assemblée législative, proclame le 25 septembre de chaque année comme le Jour des Franco- Ontariens et des Franco-Ontariennes. Tous les ans, ce jour reconnaît la contribution de la communauté francophone de l’Onta- rio à la vie culturelle, historique, sociale, économique et politique de la province. La proclamation de cette journée est une action concrète de la province pour soutenir la communauté franco-ontarienne. running in Embrun in November. The annual run is the pre-season fun- draiser for the non-profit social services agency’s annual Christmas Elf Campaign to ensure that the children of families in need in Prescott-Russell will have a present for Christmas. Last year’s Challenge in Embrun saw 159 participants, supported by 40 volunteers. Funds raised from the run helped provide more than 650 children with a gift last Christmas. “It was a festive event where so many from the region came together to run and have a good time,” stated Gabrielle Cadieux Laflèche, Valoris Foundation spokesperson. “It was great to see so many people come together to bring smiles and magic to so many children this holiday season.” This year’s Challenge Run is November 12, starting from the Sportsplex Dome in Embrun.
