Konak je zadržao mnogo toga iz prošlosti, nameštaj, slike, portrete kneževske porodice, peć za grejanje, ćilime, ori- jentalnu garderobu, što sve zajed- no čini da posetioci osete duh sta- rog vremena. PATRIJARŠIJA Palata Patrijaršije građena je do 1935, a kada je završena, štampa je pisala da je reč o impozantnoj, veli- kolepnoj građevini, uprošćenog ne- ovizantijskog stila. Na fasadi pala- te Patrijaršije se izdvaja masivni i svečano obrađeni portal okrenut ka Sabornoj crkvi. Iznad polukružnog ulaza izveden je reljefni grb Patri- jaršije, koji dva anđela ovenčavaju arhijerejskom mitrom. Iznad por- tala je mozaik na kom je Sveti Jo- van Krstitelj. U zgradi su i instituci- je od velikog značaja: Muzej Srpske pravoslavne crkve i Biblioteka Pa- trijaršije.
THE PATRIARCHIATE The Palace of the Patriarchate was under construction until 1935, and upon completion was described by the press as an impressive, magnifi- cent building, in a simplified neo-Byz- antine style. Standing out on the façade of the Palace of the Patriar- chate is a massive and formally deco- rated portico that faces the Cathedral Church opposite. Above the arched entrance is a distinct relief decorated with the coat of arms of the Patriar- chate, topped by two angels with an episcopal mitre. The niche above the portal includes a mosaic representing John the Baptist. The building is al- so home to institutions of great im- portance: the Museum of the Serbi- an Orthodox Church and the Library of the Patriarchate.
