CLIMATE CHANGE

achieving the climate targets of the Zumto- bel Group validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The emission-reducing effects of the decar- bonization levers are offset by counteracting business-as-usual (BAU) effects. These primarily reflect developments resulting from the underlying market and business assumptions and may partially compensate for the achieved emission reductions. The bridge therefore provides transparency on how the individual influencing factors affect the reduction pathway and collectively con- tribute to achieving the climate targets. The target year 2030/31 shown in the bridge corresponds to the near-term target of the climate targets of the Zumtobel Group validated by the Science Based Targets ini- tiative (SBTi). The long-term Net-Zero target with a target year of 2050/51 is not part of this presentation.
The Scope 3 bridge illustrates the develop- ment of the Zumtobel Group’s Scope 3 emissions from the base year 2022/23 through the reporting year 2025/26 to the near-term target year 2030/31. It shows the contributions of the key decarbonization levers (DLs) as well as counteracting effects that influence the emissions trajectory along the reduction pathway. The decarbonization levers presented com- prise sustainable sourcing (DL3), increasing the energy efficiency of the product portfolio (DL4), increasing the share of products with variable light output (DL5), and decarboniza- tion of the energy mix (DL6). These measu- res make a significant contribution to the reduction of Scope 3 emissions along the value chain and form the basis of the long- term decarbonization strategy and thus for
