At the same time, the Zumtobel Group con- siders sustainability beyond the use phase and provides transparent information across the entire product life cycle. In addition to energy consumption, topics such as re- source efficiency, circular economy and the responsible use of materials are therefore increasingly coming into focus.
The Zumtobel Group is aware of its re- sponsibility for environmental and climate protection and makes a significant contri- bution to reducing energy consumption in buildings and infrastructure through its products. Artificial lighting still accounts for a significant share of global energy demand, with commercial applications and outdoor lighting in particular recording the highest consumption. Therefore, the development of energy-efficient lighting solutions has been a focus of the Zumtobel Group for many years. Continuous improvements in modern LED technologies have enabled substantial savings. As efficiency gains are increasingly slowing down due to physical limitations, in- telligent lighting controls and demand-based lighting concepts are becoming increasingly important.
