How we embed and implement the principles of the circular economy in our company
This section outlines the Zumtobel Group’s material IROs in relation to resource use and circular economy, including the way in which they are managed. The main sustainability matters are as follows:

Based on the material impacts, risks and opportunities related to resource inflows, including resource use, as well as resource outflows in connection with products and services, as presented on the left, corre- sponding policies, actions and targets (PATs) have been defined. Actual negative impact on the environment: Products, components and materials that are not returned to suppliers or the Zumtobel Group, or that are not reintegrated into the value chain, represent a permanent loss of re- sources and ultimately end up as waste.
Policies relating to resource inflows and outflows [E5-1]
The second pillar of the Zumtobel Group’s sustainability strategy is dedicated to the topic of circular economy. The Zumto- bel Group strives to ensure that material resources are handled in a responsible manner and that the product development process becomes increasingly sustainable. This explains why circular economy aspects are given top priority right from the earliest stages of product development.
