RESOURCE USE AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Targets related to resource inflows and outflows [E5-3]
E5-3, T1 | The Zumtobel Group aims to gra- dually increase the share of recycled secon- dary components, products and materials (including packaging). For this purpose, the calculation methodology was revised during the reporting year and now exclusively relies on manufacturer information. Based on this revised methodology, the share of recycled secondary components for the base year 2024/25 amounts to 22% (compared with 28% under the previous methodology). In the 2025/26 financial year, this share was already increased to 24%. The target of increasing the share by 5 percentage points remains unchanged. Accordingly, based on the revised base year 2024/25, the new target amounts to 27%. Achieving this target contributes to redu- cing the use of primary raw materials and promotes sustainable sourcing and the use of renewable resources in line with the cascading principle. The targets are based on information provided by the Zumtobel Group’s suppliers regarding their expected development in the share of recycled secondary materials, particularly steel and aluminium. Achieve- ment of the target depends on technological progress and commercial availability.
All targets are voluntary and are not prescri- bed by law. In applying its comprehensive CDRs, which have been integrated into all product development activities and encom- pass the aforementioned focus areas of Cir- cular Sourcing, Circular Design and Circular Systems, the Zumtobel Group is working towards the following targets:
•
Circular Sourcing: Waste management, including prepara- tion for proper treatment Circular Design: Increasing circular product design (including, for instance, design for dura- bility, dismantling, reparability, recycla- bility, etc.)
•
•
Circular Services: Increasing the circular material use rate
Targets achieved in 2025/26:
The current proportion of recycled seconda- ry components, products and materials (in- cluding packaging) is shown in the following table, ‘Resource inflows in tonnes’.
