Resource inflow metrics [E5-4]
For the primary share of biological materials, such as paper and cardboard, FSC certifi- cates provided by suppliers are available for 61% of the tonnage used. For the secondary share of biological mate- rials, no additional certifications or suppor- ting evidence from certification schemes were available as of the reporting date. The calculation method for the table ‘Re- source inflows in tonnes’ has been revised. From 2025/26 onwards, only information from manufacturers will be used for all material types, and inferences by analogy will no longer be made. The previous year’s figure has been adjusted accordingly in the following table. The weight of secondary reused and recyc- led components in products and materials is presented in the ‘Resource inflow metrics’ table. This metric is based on the require- ments stated in DIN EN 45557. The weights of purchased products and materials are based on the figures disclosed by suppliers, which also applies to informa- tion on secondary recycled components, products and materials.
Significant resource inflows deemed mate- rial to the Zumtobel Group’s resource use and circular economy include raw materials (such as metals and plastics), electronic components, wires as well as cables, packaging materials, finished products, merchandise, goods for logistics (pallets) and technical equipment such as production machinery. Resource inflows for sales of- fices are not taken into consideration due to their low weight share compared to figures for production. The total weight of products and materials can be found in the Resource inflow metrics table. The share of biological material is also disclosed as a percentage in the Resource inflow metrics table. The Zumtobel Group defines biological materials as follows: pa- perboard cardboard, packaging made from ecological raw materials such as industrial starch, and wood & pallets. In doing so, the Zumtobel Group focuses on reducing material usage and ensuring recyclability.
