will be defined in stages through delegated acts and vertical requirements for individual product groups. The Zumtobel Group has also further deve- loped its Circular Design Rules in light of the requirements set out in the ESPR. With the Circular Design Rules for the lighting brands, attention is paid to the separability and re- parability of the Zumtobel Group’s products and all new product developments early on during the product development phase.

Durability, reparability and recyclable content

At the EU level, the reparability of luminaires is governed by the Ecodesign Regulation for light sources and separate control gear (Single Lighting Regulation) . The regulation mandates the interchangeability of light sources and control gear in luminaires but permits exceptions in certain technical or application-based cases. Based on the interchangeability specified in the product information, a reparability indicator is calculated at the Zumtobel Group level for the Lighting segment. This is calculated as the ratio of luminaires sold in the reporting period that are fitted with components which can be replaced in accordance with the Ecodesign Regulation to the total number of luminaires sold in the same period. This ratio stood at 91% for the 2025/26 financial year and was not calculated for the previous year. There are currently no comparable metrics for the products in the Components segment. The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) builds on the existing energy-related ecodesign approach to create a comprehensive framework for sustainable and circular product design. The ESPR establishes the legal framework for future requirements relating to durability, reparability, the availability of spare parts and disclosure obligations, among other aspects. It thereby explicitly addresses the issue of reparability; however, at the present time there is no uniformly established, cross-product assessment system in place. Design for Maintenance, Repair

Reparability at the product level is defined in the CDRs (“Design for Maintenance, Re- pair”) as the ratio of available spare parts to the identified potential consumable compo- nents. This definition is based on DIN EN 45554 for assessing the reparability of energy-re- lated products and also takes into account the information available to date from the planned ESPR. The calculation of product reparability is presented as a percentage between 0 and 100. The existing CDR evaluations for the lighting segment show a range of 66-100% in the category Design for Maintenance, Repair. These results indicate good repaira- bility. At present, there is no comprehensive CDR evaluation covering the entire product portfolio.

Refurbishment kits

The CDR data sheet is assessed by the development teams, supported as necessa- ry by the Group Sustainability department. Refurbishment kits are available for select, formerly manufactured luminaires that are still based on conventional technology such as fluorescent lamps, in order to enable con- versions to modern LED lighting technology. Available spare parts and refurbishment kits can be viewed on the Zumtobel and Thorn websites.
