Graphic Packaging International , Atlanta, Geor- gia, agreed to acquire the converting assets of Metro Packaging & Imaging, Wayne, New Jersey. Metro, a folding carton producer, services the food and away- from-home end markets. Custom Labels , a Fairfield, New Jersey, label con- verter founded in 1999 by Abraham Rubin, installed one of Mark Andy’s Performance Series P5 presses in its new double-size production facility. The seven- color nar row web f lexo press equipped with delam/relam capability, has a 13-inch web width. KBA-Flexotecnica announced it would install its second EvoXD 10-color press at Signature Flexible Packaging, Inc., a Southern California manufacturer of flexible packaging since 1954. Infinite Packaging Group , Lewisville, Texas, ac- quired Hyde Park Label Company (HPL).The transac- tion is the second add-on acquisition for IPG since it became a portfolio company of Svoboda Capital Part- ners in December 2012. Inland , a La Crosse, Wisconsin-based printing and labeling company, acquired Valley Label in Neenah, Wisconsin, a flexographic printer of flexible packag- ing, and pressure-sensitive, shrink and roll-fed labels with 35 employees operating from a 48,400-square- foot facility. Jamac , Sandusky, Ohio, installed its third Nilpeter flexo press, a 6-color servo-powered FB-2500S, featur- ing a splicing table with pneumatic clamping bars, er- gonomic slide-out printing stations, easy-to-use operator interface, advanced diecutting and drying systems, and Nilpeter’s Automatic Plate Positioning System (APPS). N & R Labels , located in Cape Town, South Africa, installed a Rotof lex DSI die cutter/ inspection rewinder, sold through Rotoflex’s representative in the area, SArepco. Flexografix , a premedia trade shop based in Carol Stream, Illinois, installed Esko Full HD Flexo. The entire Flexografix f lexo plate making work- flow, from prepress to the finished plates, is provid- ed by Esko tools. Flexstar Packaging , Richmond, British Columbia, installed the first MIRAFLEX S flexographic press from Windmoeller & Hoelscher (W&H) in North America. Print Pro , based in Greenville,Wisconsin, installed a newTopaz flexo press from Uteco. Amcor reached an agreement to acquire Alusa, re- portedly the largest flexible packaging business in South America.The purchase price was $435 million.
