The provincial government has released its annual Sunshine List of salaries for everyone works in the public sector. The Sunshine List has been annual event since 1996 due to the Public Sector Disclosure Act of the Mike Harris Progres- sive Conservative government. It lists all employees in the public sector with annual salaries of $100,000 or more during the past year. That includes civil service workers for the province and for municipal govern- ments, along with school district employees, hospital workers, and all those employed with non-government agencies in the public sector. The 2020 Sunshine List for Prescott- Russell has 141 names of employees from among the eight municipalities and the United Counties of Prescott-Russell with salaries of $100,000 or more. Casselman was the sole municipality not listed for entries during a search of the 2020 Sunshine List. Russell Township The 2020 Sunshine List has 14 entries from Russell Township. The top five are: Jean Leduc, chief administrator, at $167,490.52; Jonathan Bourgon, infrastructure services executive director, at $138,918.90; Richard Godin, finance director, at $128,063.61; Dominique Tremblay, director of planning, building, and economic development, at $126,698.06;

United Counties of Prescott-Russell Prescott-Russell’s regional government has 74 entries on the 2020 Sunshine List. By comparison the United Counties of Stor- mont-Dundas-Glengarry have seven names on the list. The top five include: Stéphane Parisien, chief administrator, at $225,081.59; Judith Richer, residential care coordinator, at $163,121.52; Pierre Gauthier, human resources director, at $147,043.49; Carol Lavigne, economic development and tourism director, at $146,885.22; Louis Prévost, planning and forestry director, at $146,885.20. Àmoins de 100 mètres de l’Indépendant d’Embrun se retrouve le conteneur recyclé où les produits sont cultivés et récoltés tous les matins. La technique de production que l’équipe utilise est l’hydroponie, une technique culturale où les racines des plantes poussent dans une eau nutritive en flux continu. Les racines de la salade sont conservées afin que le consommateur puisse les tremper dans l’eau pour prolonger la fraicheur du produit. Grâce à un éclairage maitrisé, à une hydrométrie, une concentration en CO2 et une température homogène toute l’année, ce concept permet d’offrir des salades et des herbes aromatiques en tout temps et ainsi réduire la dépendance à l’importation. Did you know that it is now possible to buy local lettuce and herbs all year round? It was in August 2020 that the Embrun COOP launched this urban agriculture project. Less than 100 metres from the Embrun Independent is the recycled container where products are grown and harvested every morning. The production technique the team uses is hydroponics, a cultivation technique where the roots of plants grow in nutrient water in a continuous flow. The roots of the lettuce are preserved so that the consumer can soak them in water to prolong the freshness of the product. Thanks to controlled lighting, hydrometry, CO2 concentration and uniform temperature throughout the year, this concept makes it possible to offer lettuce and aromatic herbs at all times and thus reduce dependence on imports. This model also guarantees a production without pesticides, insecticides, or GMOs. This innovative project is entirely designed for the community. It was created by several members and
