has been glued on the back. On the first print the letter “ L” and on the third the letter “V.” When these windows are opened the word “ LOVE” is spelled.) f o i l î üB LESSON: You have never seen the win dows of a home with letters such as these, I am sure. We will let these windows remind us of the home of Mary and Martha, where Jesus liked to go when tired and in need of rest and fellowship. The home of Mary and Martha must have been a very wonderful place. It must have been a happy home for Jesus spent much time there, we think. Did you know that the windows of a home often tell whether or not the home is a happy one? If you should pass a home in which you saw the whole family drinking whisky you would know that it was not a happy home. If you should notice a family reading the Bible together, you would be pretty sure that it was a happy home. We w ill open a couple of the win dows and see if we can find out why it is like a happy home. As we open the first and third windows, we see the word “ L-O-V-E.” Love is a very important thing in a happy home. Paul realized this and he wrote in First Corinthians 13:4-8, “ Charity [love] suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.” If there was more Christian love in the home, there would be more happy homes. \ { M Was It You? middle. Bend the 2 outside sections at right angles to the middle section. Cut across the middle section about a quarter of an inch from the flat roll on both sides of the flat roll. When you hold the 2 outside sections at right angles to the middle section, and pull up on the flat roll, a ladder will be made. Line and make circles on the outside to represent the bark and knots of a log. Begin- the lesson with cuts in the roll away from the audience.) LESSON: This round piece of paper is made to look like a log. If you were running fast and suddenly saw a log in your path, you might stumble and fall. Many have fallen because there has been something in their path which has caused them to stumble. There are more ways than one in which people are made to stumble. In Romans 14:21 we read, “It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.” In that day, as well as i n , this, there were those who thought they were strong enough to drink wine and not become drunk ards. Paul reminded them that they should not drink wine, regardless of the effect that drinking had on them selves, because some other brother might stumble. Logs can be made into ladders. Would you like to see me make this one into a ladder? (Fold the outside sections to right angles with the cen ter, and pull on the small roll.) We now have a ladder which reaches to ward heaven. It is much better to make our lives ladders which help to lift others, than to do those things which cause others to stumble and fall. Paul may have had this truth in mind when he wrote, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye sire bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” 1 Cor. 6:19, 20). May 31, 1953 H ome A nd L ove .... OBJECT: A piece of paper on which are sketched 4 windows. (With a darker colored crayon, print one of the letters in the word “ H-O-M-E” on each of the windows. Paste another piece of paper the same color on the back of this paper. Cut down one side and across the top and bottom of the “ H” and “M ” windows. This will allow them to swing open. Open them and put crossbars on the sheet which

The first I want to introduce to you is Irri Tater (Irritater). He is always irritating some one. That is not a good way to be, and I hope you boys and girls do not imitate him. The next I want to show you is Ampu Tater (Amputater). To ampu tate means to cut off. We say that a doctor has amputated an arm when he has had to cut it off. Peter in the garden is an example of an amputa ter. He cut off the ear of one of the servants with his sword. You see, Ampu Tater has a sword in his hand. We do not carry swords today as Peter did, but we can cut even deeper than Peter with sharp words. In First Thessalonians 5:15 we read, “ See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but every fellow- that which is good, both among your selves, and to all men.” The last of the triplets is Medi Tater (Meditater). This one reminds me of Psalm 1:2, “ But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he MEDITATE day and night.” The word meditate means to think carefully about something. If each one of us would be medi- taters about the Bible truths it would be easy for us to obey Paul’s com mands, “Rejoice evermore. Pray with out ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thess. 5:16-18). If you will be like Medi Tater, God will use you, but He cannot use you if you are like Irri Tater or Ampu Tater.

OBJECTS: A pair of scissors and a piece of light brown paper 6 inches wide by 48 inches long. (Begin with one end, and make 5 or 6 very small folds. Press this roll flat so that it will not unwind. Begin with this flat roll, and then make a large round roll, about the size of the middle finger, using the remainder of the paper. Ar range the round roll so that the flat roll will be at the bottom. Cut down from the top of the round roll to, but not through, the flat roll. This should be done twice, 2 inches from each end, leaving a space of 2 inches in the
