de Plantagenet (Ontario), décédée paisiblement entourée de sa famille, le jeudi 4 février 2021, à l’âge de 69 ans. Elle était l’épouse bien- aimée de Donald Péladeau; la fille de feu Lucien Campeau et de feu Bertha Ladouceur; la chère mère de Luc (Marie-Josée Garand) et Éric (Marie-Christine Ouimet); la Mimi adorée de Cindy, Mylène et Krystel Péladeau, Marc- Antoine et Martine Péladeau; l’arrière-grand- mère de Mia. Lui survivent également ses frères et sœurs, Lilianne (feu Maurice Brunette), Lucien (Diane Millette), Marcelle Larivière (Gaston Robillard), Richard Larivière (Vivianne Guérin), Lynn Larivière (Larry Demers) et Sophie Campeau (Pascal Cadieux), ainsi que plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-sœurs, neveux, nièces et ami(e)s. Elle fut prédécédée par un frère Jean-Paul (Kim); trois sœurs, Diane, Pierrette (feu André Lacelle) et Lise (Ronald Lajeunesse). Étant donné les circonstances actuelles, un service religieux aura lieu dans l’intimité familiale à une date ultérieure en l’église Saint-Victor à Alfred; inhumation au cimetière paroissial. Pour ceux et celles qui le désirent, vos marques de sympathie peuvent se traduire par des dons à l’œuvre de charité de votre choix. It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing, due to heart complications, of “John” at Alexandria’s hospital, on Saturday January 30, 2021, at the age of 89. Loving husband of “Maisy” (née Guiliani) for over 60 years. Dear only son of Gino Marini and much loved adoptive father, Francois Marcel “Papa Marcel” and late mother Adele Marie (née Lamberti). He leaves behind his much loved daughter Regina and five grandchildren, Taylor, Conor, Nicole, Brandan and Karina. He also leaves behind his extended family in Luxembourg and France. John was born in 1931 in Esch Alzette Luxembourg and fled to Paris France at the outbreak of the second world war witnessing Hitler’s entrance on the Champs Elysee and the suppression of the Nazi’s. John lost close family members and friends, including Papa Marcel, who were part of the French Resistance at the hands of the Gestapo firing squads and concentration camps. Upon the joyous liberation of Paris by the American and Canadian troops, John befriended many soldiers and learned to speak English and embrace western culture .In the early 50’s, at the tender age of 19 years, John enthusiastically immigrated to Canada arriving at the infamous Pier 21 at Halifax, Nova Scotia. Told that jobs were to be found in Northern Ontario, and with only $300. in his pockets, John immediately boarded a train and began work as a Lumberjack, then Miner in the remote Ontario wilderness. Between 1958 and 1976, John began to work for Corrections Canada, in Burwash and then Ottawa, as a Correctional Officer. Simultaneously, John served with the 48th Highlanders Regiment and military police as a Sergeant Major. He was awarded a distinguished service medal for his military service. In 1976, he was further recognized for is distinguished service, and language proficiency of English, French, Luxembourgois, German and Italian. He proudly began his career with the Department of External Affairs in Ottawa as a Security Manager for the Canadian Embassies and was posted over a span of 14 years to London, England, Belgrade (then) Yugoslavia, Paris France, Geneva Switzerland and Rome Italy. His duties included the protection of Canadian diplomats and numerous high ranking dignitaries. John retired in 1990 with distinction, and settled with his wife Maisy to enjoy country life outside of Casselman, Ontario. Not one to remain ideal long, John inspired, joined and volunteered with The Royal Canadian Legion at branches, Russell, Alexandria, and Lancaster to honor serving Canadians and veterans and his families members and friends, who gave their lives for the freedom we have in Canada today. John attained the rank with the Legion of Sergeant at Arms and served over 16 years and was decorated accordingly. John especially loved and treasured working and training the Cadets and was greatly honored when he was given the title of an honorary member. John was a proud Canadian. Due to Covid restrictions a private celebration of his life will be postponed until restrictions are lifted. De siècle en siè- cle, la terre acquiert de plus d’oxygène…. feu de terre se transformant en air (humidité, nuage et re- tombe en pluie ou neige). L’air se promène avec le vent et frappe quoi? Il semble que l’air détruit. Du commencement à aujourd’hui, l’ai a rendu la pla- nète plus SOLIDE. L’air entraîne quoi? Frappe quoi? Moins ou plus de bois, plus ou moins de ville; ne change pas le réchauffement de l’intérieur de la planète. Mais l’extérieur, le niveau d’eau d’Hawaï ou l’île de Pâques n’a point changé. Madame Laurette Campeau (née Leroux) ce 4 février 2021, à l’âge de 97 ans et 4 mois. Elle fut prédécédée par son époux Euclide Campeau; ses parents Elzéar et Donalda (née Lajeunesse) Leroux et son fils, Jean Campeau. Prédécédée aussi par son frère René et ses sœurs : Lucille, Simone, et Aline. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses deux petits-enfants : Nathalie et Michel Campeau; un arrière-petit-fils, Joey; ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces et un beau-frère, René Adam. Dû aux circonstances actuelles, une célébration de sa vie aura lieu dans l’intimité familiale en présence de ses cendres à une date ultérieure.
