Undefeated local 5x champion to represent Northeast NJAA names Berryman Maintenance Mania winner

Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA) is a statewide organi- zation of apartment owners, managers, builders, developers, and those involved in allied in- dustries. The Association is de- signed to advance and protect the welfare of the apartment industry in New Jersey. NJAA represents managers and own- ers of more than 170,000 rental units throughout the state as rental housing is home to over one-third of all New Jersey families. NJAA also serves its membership’s interest on a national level through its affili- ation with the National Apart- ment Association (NAA). n
cian for The Kamson Cor- poration’s Tree Top Apart- ments, will be one out of 20 competitors in the National Apartment Association’s (NAA) Maintenance Mania competition taking place in San Diego next month. This is Berryman’s fifth consecutive win as the NewJerseyApart- ment Association’s (NJAA) 1st Place Overall Champion and fourth year representing the Northeast region at the National Competition where he came in third in 2010, and won an individual award in 2012’s race car event in which participants create small race cars made out of maintenance parts. “New Jersey apartment com- munities could not function as well as they do without the hard work of mainte- nance technicians like Dave Berryman,” said Brent Ko- here , president for the NJAA. “Maintenance Mania is a way to show our appreciation for these unsung heroes and let them show off their skills in a fun way.” There are more than 65 Maintenance Mania events across the country in which maintenance technicians com- pete for time in skill-based table games based on common maintenance activities includ- ing the Fluidmaster Duo Flush Toilet Conversions and the Kiddie Fire & Carbon Monox- ide Safety Installations. More than 4,000 mainte- nance technicians compete in these events before the com- petition is ultimately whittled down to the top 20 that com- pete at the National Apart- ment Association event. In addition to New Jersey, the Northeast Region consists of New York, Connecticut, Mas- sachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Maine. Presented by HD Supply, a leading distributor of main- tenance and renovation prod- ucts, Maintenance Mania is a national competition sponsored by the National Apartment Association and its affiliates. The top regional maintenance technicians with the best times from the 2012-2013 season will be selected to compete for the chance to hold the national title of Best Maintenance Tech- nician. The top finalists asked
to compete in the Maintenance Mania® National Champion- ships 2013 will receive free airfare, hotel accommoda- tions, and registration to the NAA Educational Conference and Exposition in San Diego. Founded in 1986, the New
