As you age, your muscle tissue actually dries out a little, tightening. This causes a loss of range of motion in your joints and tissues. STAFF SPOTLIGHT Kennneth Biala, PT, DPT, ATC

Kenneth Biala has worked as a sports-medicine physical therapist in the Chicagoland area for 15 years. Kenneth’s passion for physical therapy began while working with children with various neuromuscular disorders including muscular dystrophy. He furthered his education in musculoskeletal injuries by completing the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana Athletic Training program in 1999. Division I sports teams he worked with there included football, tennis, swimming, and wheelchair sports. He went on to complete his Masters of Science degree in physical therapy at Washington University in St. Louis in 2001. Additionally, he completed his doctoral degree in physical therapy in 2014 with his goal in becoming an expert in understanding movement –related injuries. He currently specializes in working with orthopedic injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation and he has studied and worked extensively with running and walking injuries. Besides spending every moment he can with his 3 young children and wife he loves coming to work as a physical therapist every day!
