The Honorable Michael P. Duffey, Under Secretary of War for Ac - quisition and Sustainment, hosted the 2025 Warfighting Acquisi - tion Awards during an in-person ceremony on March 19, 2026, at the Warfighting Acquisition University’s Fort Belvoir campus. The ceremony recognized 22 individuals and 14 teams whose work advances the Secretary of War’s priorities by accelerating capability delivery, strengthening readiness, and improving affordability. Their achievements reflect the department’s Ac - quisition Transformation Strategy—driving speed and agility, enabling smart risk-taking and innovation, and delivering mea - surable results for the Warfighter. With nearly 160,000 civilian and military professionals from the Services, Defense Agencies, and Field Activities, the warfighting acquisition workforce is a strategic advantage—partnering with operators and industry to field capabilities matched to evolving threats and to reestablish deterrence through a resilient Joint Force and Defense Industrial Base. These annual awards high - light teams and individuals who are modernizing how we buy, build, and sustain capability by executing with urgency, account - ability, and mission focus. Mr. Duffey presented awards in categories that reflect the Ac - quisition Transformation Strategy’s focus on speed, innovation, flexibility, workforce development, and operational outcomes: The Individual Achievement Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate the highest levels of excellence and professionalism in their respective acquisition functional area or cross-functional knowledge area. The Software Innovation Team Award recognizes teams who are driving speed, innovation, and the use of best practices in

software development and acquisition, as evidenced by frequent and high-quality delivery of software capabilities into the hands of the Warfighter. The F lexibility in Acquisition Team Award recognizes Depart - ment of War (DoW) civilian and military teams who have, in their approach to program management and contracting, dem - onstrated outstanding innovation and use of flexibilities and authorities provided by the Federal Acquisition Regulation and DoW Instruction 5000.02 (Operation of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework). The Workforce Development Innovation Award recognizes talent management excellence and innovation by acquisition organizations to ensure their workforce is ready and equipped to deliver world-class capabilities to the Warfighter. The David Packard Excellence in Acquisition Award honors DoW acquisition teams and programs for outstanding innova - tion and achievement in developing, acquiring, and sustaining operational capabilities that support National Defense Strategy lines of effort to increase readiness and lethality, strengthen al - liances, and achieve significant reform. The Acquisition and Sustainment Service Awards for Third Quarter 2025 recognizes individuals and teams within the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment who demonstrate exceptional public service through innovative solutions, leadership, and dedication to mission success.
