SD-22 Update: Focused Improvements Available Now Paul Pethel

New Digital Acquisition Transformation Training Course Bill Kobren

An updated version of the SD-22 Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) Guidebook was released on Janu- ary 6th, 2026. This update is intentionally limited in scope and focuses on two targeted improvements to strengthen execution and improve consistency across programs. First, the description of the DMSMS Management Plan (DMP) has been revised. Second, new guidance addresses barriers to effective DMSMS management for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) equipment. Newly Updated SD-1 Standardization Directory Bill Kobren The Defense Standardization Program Office (DSPO) has recently issued an updated SD-1 Standardization Directory. The SD-1 Standardization Directory provides a list of all DoD Standardization Management Activities and civilian agency standardization offices. (Read more)

The Warfighting Acquisition University’s acquisition and program management colleagues have deployed an im- portant new multidisciplinary training course of interest to acquisition and sustainment workforce members entitled ACQ 1500, Digital Acquisition Transformation . This online training course introduces defense acquisition professionals to the foundational concepts, language, and practices that under- pin model-based digital acquisition. Two New Requirements Management RDT Opportunities Bill Kobren The Warfighting Acquisition University’s requirements man - agement colleagues have deployed two new rapid deploy- ment training opportunities focused on the new Joint Force Requirements Process, which replaces the former Joint Ca- pabilities Integration and Development System: • 2026 Joint Force Requirements Process: Replacing JCIDS Rapid De- ployment Training , a presentation introducing the 2026 Joint Force Requirements Process (JFRP), which is replacing the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development Sys - tem (JCIDS) Manual . • 2026 JFRP Overview Webinar Rapid Deployment Training , a webi- nar providing an introductory overview of the new Joint Forces Requirements Process. This new course provides a fundamental un- derstanding of International Logistics and the planning and implementation of supporting logistics arrangements between nations, their forces, and government agencies. New Program Protection Planning Awareness Training Bill Kobren The Warfighting Acquisition University has deployed a new multidisciplinary, ACQ 1600 Program Protection Planning Awareness training course of interest to Life Cycle Logistics, product support, and sustainment workforce professionals. This new online training course emphasizes the principles and policies of system security engineering.

The Warfighting Acquisition University announces the de - ployment of its newest multidisciplinary instructor-led Life Cycle Logistics training course, LOG 3110V Supportability Analy- sis . This 4.5-day Virtual Instructor Led course builds on the Supportability concepts presented in LOG 2010, Product Support Strategy Development, Part B . Designed as the lynchpin course for the instruction of Supportability Analysis, LOG 3110V uses a notional scenario to engage life cycle logisticians and other functional area workforce students within the systems engineering process to ensure that design characteristics such as reliability, availability, maintainability, and afford - ability are included as system performance requirements, and that the system is concurrently designed, developed, and acquired with the optimal product support infrastruc-

This offering is a multidisciplinary training course of interest to Life Cycle Logistics, product support, and sustainment professionals and will familiar- ize the T&E workforce with the fundamentals of Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability.
