NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING Concerning a Proposed Community Improvement Plan Amendment

TAKE NOTICE that, in accordance with Sections 17 and 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, a Public Meeting will be held by the Council of the Town of Hawkesbury on Monday, March 23, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. , in the Town Hall’s Council Chambers , at 600 Higginson Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario, to consider a Community Improvement Plan Amendment. THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the proposed Community Improvement PlanAmendment is to revise theTown of Hawkesbury’s existing Community Improvement Plan, which was adopted by the Council in December 2017. A Community Improvement Plan is a planning and economic development tool that define a framework to assist in community revitalization, and aims to achieve economic, community planning and urban development goals. The proposed revisions to the Community Improvement Plan would add new financial incentive programs intended to support the establishment of affordable housing, the creation of new rental housing units and the development and redevelopment of industrial lands in the Town of Hawkesbury. A draft revised Community Improvement Plan has been prepared for community review and can be found on the Town’s website at https://www.hawkesbury.ca/en/town-hall/ publications/community-improvement-plan-amendment. The existing Community Improvement Plan Area, established by Council in December 2017, includes the entirety of the Town of Hawkesbury and is not proposed to be altered. THE SUBJECT LANDS encompass the entirety of the Town of Hawkesbury. As such, no key map is provided. Specific precincts are outlined in the draft revised Community Improvement Plan document, which is available for review at https:// www.hawkesbury.ca/en/town-hall/publications/community-improvement-plan-amendment. ANY PERSON may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Community Improvement Plan Amendment. IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY would otherwise have the ability to appeal the decision of the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury before the Amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision. IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury before the Amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
