GPS Living Fall 2023 - Kohler Stores

Falling Gently mixes natural imagery with layered, dripping-spray-paint energy from her background in street art. “I’m thrilled to be part of this global artist collaboration with other powerful creative women from around the world,” she says. Pushpa Kumari calls her design Aranya , which is Hindi for forest. Appropriately, the lines of her tree-centric images offer nods to India’s traditional symbolic art. Janet Echelman had already created an Artist Edition sink when Kohler asked her to share additional work as part of this exhibition. Her sculpture—an undulation of brightly colored netting—recalled the move- ment of water both in its form and reflection from below. It’s called Noli Timere —“Do Not Fear” in Latin. Visitors to the exhibition also fearlessly took up the creator’s mantle themselves—manipulating their own designs and seeing how they would look wrapped smartly around Kohler product. To honor the company’s 150th anniversa- ry, Kohler plans to offer 150 of each Creator’s Journey piece. Thus, they will be priced at a premium with the Brazn sink at $1,400, the Numi 2.0 at $15,500, and the Brazn tub at $19,000. They are slated to begin shipping in November 2023. Visit kohler.com . ■
