What I did: During my everyday internship, I would ask my manager what she wanted me to do. My tasks are mainly providing manicure and pedicure services for clients. Every day at my workplace is not the same, and I see so many clients with so many different personalities. I tried to keep up tracking of my client and try to remember their name and what they liked and disliked making my job smooth and fast. This internship taught me to be confident and believe in my work. What I liked: My workplace was friendly and allowed most employees to have flexible hours as they wished. This is one of the reasons why I decided to do an internship at my workplace. I can go to work or leave work whenever I must, if I let the manager know. Another thing I like about this job is that I get to see people, interact with them, and see them happy with their nails. I think seeing clients satisfied with their nails is the most satisfying thing that I could think of. Most of my clients often say they don’t smoke, don’t drink, and nails are the only thing they do, which means a lot to me. As a nail rech, we are part of our clients’ happiness because getting their nails done brings relaxation and makes them feel better and more confident about themselves. Future Dream Job: My dream job is to be able to work from home with excellent wages. I also want to open my own business. I think opening a business can be challenging initially, but once the company can overcome the hardship, I’ll be able to retire early. I want something that will give me flexibility and freedom.
