For the more science-minded, the Marine Explorers Summer Program at the East Hampton Marine Museum gives your marine biologist an opportunity to tour the museum and get hands-on experience with traditional craftsmanship using woodworking tools and paint to create their own works of art and learn about maritime history and environmental studies. And that’s just in the morning because, in the afternoon, the kids head to Atlantic Avenue Beach to have fun with water and beach activities while learning about marine science and water safety. The museum works with several local partners, so the kids will also get to visit other sites like the Amagansett Lifesaving Station. The program staff is comprised of certified educators

and water safety instructors, as well as American Red Cross trained open water lifeguards. The staff also includes a level-one surf/ocean lifeguard. The program runs from Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Age groups are 6-8, 9-12, and 13-15. The cost is $495 for members and $525 per week for non-members. Siblings receive a $50 per week discount (Use promo code: sibling). There is so much for kids to enjoy here and we know that while you're having fun on the water, it's even more enjoyable when you know your kids are having a great time too; learning new skills, making new friends and memories to last a lifetime.

For a more traditional camp experience, Quinipet Camp is in the beautiful environs of Shelter Island, surrounded by water. They offer Day Camp, Overnight Camp, and Community Sailing. This year, they are celebrating their 75th anniversary. Their goal is for kids from 5 to 15 to try new things and deepen their spiritual values. They are a Christian faith-based camp but welcome everyone. Sports activities include swimming, fishing, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and yoga. Arts activities include cooking, dance, robotics, videography and even Rock Band. Quinipet also has the very popular community sailing program for ages 9 to 15, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-12:30 pm or 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm pm. This sailing program is a no-pressure setting where kids are encouraged to learn at their own pace. Instructors cover sailing basics for all levels, and they strive to provide an experience and adventure for each student as they find the joy of sailing. They offer small boat dingy sailing and keelboat sailing depending on skill level, availability, and weather. All sailors must pass a swim test.
