SAVED BY A SONG In th e congregation a t a recent Sacred Song Recital given by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harkness in th e Church of the Open Door sat a lady w ithout Christ. All around her people were singing h eartily the popular chorus “Get God’s Sunshine into your H ea rt.” The com poser, Mr. Robert H arkness, drew atten tion to th e fact th a t the secret of ta a possession of God’s sunshine in the h ea rt was the absolute su rrender of the life to Christ. Several days later Mr. Harkness received a le tte r in which the w riter said, “F o r years I have been rebellious towards God. I knew per fectly we}l th a t I ought to make the g reat surrender, bu t I resolved to con tinue longer in my life of worldliness. As th e people sang “Get God’s Sunslune into your H eart,” they seemed to be so happy about it th a t I longed for th e same experience and when Mrs. Hark- ness sang th e verses I could resist no longer. I accepted Christ th ere and then and now I have God’s sunshine in my h e a rt.” This Song will be found in th e new collection of tw enty songs advertised in this issue under the title “New H ark ness Songs.” Mr. Harkness has w ritten many soul-winning songs. These latest songs bear th e hall-m ark of real suc cess because they convey a soul-winning message and come from the pen of a soul-winning composer.
