Christ is the mirror of God through which God shines (John 1:18). He is preeminently God’s Son (John 3:13). He is either Deity or deluded (John 8:41-44). His authority and impress upon humanity proclaims His Deity (Matt. 7:29). Christ’s Moral System Proves His Deity Christ’s "Sermon on the Mount" proves His supremacy (Matt. 6-7). Christianity is the greatest proof of Christ’s Deity because He as its Head measures up to the highest standard of Deity. Christ’s supreme love, matchless purity, unequaled goodness and per fect character proclaim His Deity. Christ’s super-wisdom, literary gen ius, and the universality of His teach ings,. backed by His resurrection from the dead, establish His repeated and promised claims to prove His Deity (John 10:17, 18). Further Proofs of Christ’s Deity We see that Christ is not the pro duct of human evolution, and His Deity 1 b not a deluded fabrication, and His followers are not hopelessly mis led by a humanitarian peasant of Gal- lilean ancestry whose mother was a fallen woman (if not the virgin mother) and He an illegitimate son of human bastardy (If not the Son of God as the Bible declares). The world cannot be explained apart from Christ’s Deity (John 1). He is Insane if not Deity, because He claimed to be the Saviour of all who would accept His eternal life (John 3:16, 17, 36; 4:14; 5:24; 10: 10; 11:25; 12:32, 33; 17:1-5). If not Deity Christ was insane, be cause He called all men unto Himself to know God (Matt. 11:27-30). Christ’s words, deeds and miracles prove His Deity (John 7:46; 10:37, 38; 11:45-48). God’s glory mellowed through Christ’s Deity in light, love, hope and rest through His earthly ministry cli maxed by Calvary’s Cross (John 19: 30; Luke 23:46). Christ’s Ministry o f Power Proves His Deity Christ’s ministry is the greatest proof of His Deity (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts). His saving power as recorded and demonstrated throughout the New Testament and following centuries is (Continued on page 530)

Christ Is Called “ God” The Church has always called Christ God (1 John 6:20). His Deity is the hope of the Church (Tit. 2:13), and its impulse for pur ity (1 John 3 :3 ). Christianity stands or falls with Christ’s Deity (John 11:25). Faith in Christ’s Deity is the source of blessing (John 1:29).

HRIST’S Deity Is the center « and sum of all His teach ings. His authority rests upon

His Deity. The Old Testament predicted His Deity (Isa. 9 :6 ). Christ’s forerunner was foretold (Mai. 3 :1 ). Christ’s birth and childhood was foretold (Isa, 7:14, 15). The places were mentioned (Mlc. 5:2; Hos. 11:1). The exact time was mentioned (Oen. 49:10; Dan. 9:26, 26). His ministry was pictured (Deut. 18:15; 2 Sam. 23:4; Isa. 11:1, 2). Christ's atonement and sufferings foretold (Psa. 22; Isa. 53). His resurrection and ascension fore told (Psa. 16:10; 68:18). Testimony to Christ’s Deity God's Testimony to Christ’s Deity was revealed at His baptism, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased’’ (Matt. 3:16, 17). At Christ’s transfiguration God said, "This is my beloved Son, hear ye Him" (Matt. 17:1-6).* Before the Greeks and Jews God said, “ I have glorified it and will glor ify it again" (John 12:28-30). "And the Father Himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me'j (John 5:32, 37). Christ’s Own Testimony to His Deity, “ I and my Father are one. I am the Son of God" (John 10:30, 36). "I am the Life. He that hath seen me hath seen the Father" (John 14: 6, 8, 9). "All men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the-Son honoreth not the Father which hath sent Him” (John 6:22, 23). “ I that speak unto thee am Mes siah" (John 4:25, 26). "It is Messiah that talketh with thee” (John 9:35-37). “ And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was" (John 17:5, 21). Testimony of Others to Christ’s Deity: (1) Isaiah 9:6, "Son, Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace.”
