What a day for running on Canada Day.The foul weather Saturday did not stopmore than 400 participants, both local and fromaround the region and beyond, frommaking their way to Hawkesbury for the July 1st edition of the Kraken Marathon Series. Organizers of the long-distance running event heaped praise on all runners through the event’s Facebook page for “defeating the Kraken” and encouraged everyone to come back for next year’s Kraken run in Prescott-Russell.
