Julia Mata - “Post-Stress Relief” (poster session) The purpose of this experiment is to compare the effects of different exercises on relieving recent stress. Participants for this study are Missouri Valley College students, these students will be put in three groups.They were asked to complete multiplication problems, which will create a stressful situation for them. After they will be asked to complete a stress relief exercise out of the three. The three stress relieving exercises are therapeutic coloring, a writing prompt, and a reading material. After completing stress relief exercise participants will have to complete a post stress scale.The hypothesis is predicted that stress relief exercises will help reduce stress when being exposed to a stressful situation. Leonardo Mendes - “Soccer Fans’ Interactions” (session 13) Soccer, since its beginning, has shown the power of captivating people’s attention and gaining their love and it has grown exponentially in the last decades, creating one of the most interesting and passionate fan bases. In this research paper I am going to cite, analyze, and explain why soccer fans are so passionate to this sport, focusing on Liverpool fans. I am going to cite and analyze some of the reasons that make soccer fans to like the sport that much. I argue that fandoms, songs that fans sing in stadiums are positive psychological contributions to the team’s development and performance in games. James Menz - “Writing, Editing, and Other Forms of Torture” (session 22) James Menz is an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science here at Missouri Valley College. He has been teaching for over 20 years and has presented professional education classes to nurses, massage therapists and fitness trainers in numerous states.Professor Menz will be speaking about his journey of writing and publishing 2 books. His presentation will take you through the process, from the first spark of motivation to the published product. He will include personal advice as well as helpful info from several top selling authors. This session will help an aspiring writer who may want to publish, and anyone who wants to be a better writer on any level. We’ll include Q and A for anyone who wants to ask for or share a tip.
