says: . “Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin. of the world.” One day a man was working on a high tower, when- in some way he slipped and fell. His companion watched him, expect ing to see his body dashed upon the pave ment many feet below. Just then a farmer was driving a flock of sheep through the street. Instead of striking the pavement, the man fell upon one of the sheep, crush ing out its life, but saving his own. So Jesus was the “Lamb of God.” If we ac cept Him as Our Saviour, God lets all our sins fall upon Him. He suffered upon the cross ' in our place so that all our sins could be blotted out (Isaiah 44:22) if we put our trust in Him and seek to do His will ,as Christians. A little boy was playing before the door of his home. His mother was at work just inside the door. A big bee came buz zing around and the lad in fear, ran inside to his mother, the bee close after him. As he hid behind his mother, what do you think happened? The bee fastened its sting in his mother’s arm. As- it began to swell up, his mother showed him a black speck which was the bee’s little poisonous, sharp stinger which it had left. The bee could no longer harm the boy be cause it had no sting left. Then the mother took her boy and told him the story of how all people were pursued by the devil and sin in this) world-. Jesus went to the dross and in him the awful sting of sin was plunged. He bore God’s full anger against sin, so that death is harmless to; all who trust in Him. We must not forget, however, that this salvation is not ours unless we accept it —that is—put our faith in the Lord Jesus. “Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out,” (John 6:37).. Again in John 1:12 we read: “As many as,RE CEIVED Him, to them gave He power to become the sons, of God, even to them that BELIEVE on His name.” If we do not receive Him we will have to face our own sins at the Judgment of God, which means we would be shut out of heaven forever, but Romans 10:13 tells us that whosoever shall call upon the Lord SHALL BE SAVED. A railroad engineer who was able to be home only once in several days, had, a little boy who loved Jesus. The father always sent a telegram to his little boy when he was coming home. The telegram would say, “Dear Willie, I will sleep with my boy tonight.” The little fellow was always delighted when the message came. One day the little boy was taken very sick. Before news could be gotten to the father, the boy died. A little while before he died, as his mamma and little sister were weeping bitterly, he said, “Don’t cry mamma and sister. I’m going to sleep with Jesus tonight. Don’t you think we had better send Jesus a telegram and let Him know I’ll be there?” Then he stopped breathing and his spirit went to be with Jesus. How wonderful it is to know that we have a Saviour who, first of all, guides us and watches over us during this life, and then at last takes us to a home with Him, eternal in the heavens ! The Saviour we will surely want when it comes time- to die, is the Saviour we need to keep us through our lives.

A New Gospel Song by Robert Harkness In July 1925, the old Moody Church of Chicago was crowded one night on the occasion of a gospel song program, rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harkness. The old time gospel song interest of the historic church was in evidence as Mr. Harkness proceeded with a special item on his program. “Quote a text of Scripture,” said the Australian composer, “and I will set it to music and then we shall all learn it.” Immediately from all parts of the church texts were quoted. From these the text “Yet a little while and He will come” was selected. Immediately the musician wrote the music for the text. Then he played the complete chorus over, after which he sang it. Its reception was such that within a few moments the vast congregation was singing the great second coming truth. A few days later Mr. Harkness. visited a Bible Conference at Cedar Lake, Indiana. As he stood quietly in a meditative mood beside the Lake, the words of the verses of this song, together with its music, suggested them selves. It is found in the new book published by Mr. Harkness, entitled “Harkness Gospel Songs,” price 30c, obtainable at the Biola Book Room. Yet a Little While.
