The company have completed over 190 projects including major multi-well Extended Reach Drilling projects in 34 countries and over 90% of business came from repeat or client recommendation in recognition of exceptional customer excellence. mrt castings was established in 1947 in south london, and relocated to its current production base in Hampshire in 1965. mrt manufactures aluminium and zinc die castings, precision machined components and innovative electro- mechanical assemblies for hi-tech oEms across the world. the company remains a family owned business, and has a highly skilled workforce of 55 staff. MRT’s Queen’s Award for International Trade is a recognition of the company’s outstanding growth in export sales over recent years. New production contracts from customers in the USA, Ireland, Hungary, Poland, France and Germany have seen exports grow to 56% of the company’s total sales. The business as a whole grew by 70% last year alone. To support this expansion the company has invested £1.5m in additional production capacity and automation, and has moved into two additional manufacturing units adjacent to its existing site in Andover. MRT focus on producing complex components for applications in the medical, defence, aerospace and electronics industries. Working in partnership with their customers from the initial component design concept, MRT add value by managing the complete production supply chain. The company’s foundry produces castings through the gravity and high pressure die casting processes.
