ENGLISH LANGUAGE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS International applicants are expected to show a good level of English for entry into the UK and for our courses. English language requirements are stated on the individual course pages online. In most cases, we require an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent for undergraduate entry and IELTS 6.5 or equivalent for postgraduate entry. However, there may be some variation, so please check the course pages online, or contact us if you are unsure. The University also recognises a range of English language tests and qualifications which are recognised by the UK Home Office as secure English language tests (SELT). swansea.ac.uk/admissions/ english-language-requirements If you don’t meet the English Language requirement for your course, you can enrol with our English Language Training Services to improve your skills. swansea.ac.uk/elts

FOUNDATION AND PRE-MASTER’S COURSES If you do not meet the entry requirements for your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree, you might be able to study a Foundation or Pre-Master’s course with our pathway college which will bring you up to the required level. Details can be found on P35. We offer courses to bridge any gaps between qualifications you hold already and the ones you need to begin a degree course at Swansea. This could be because you need to develop your English language skills, improve on your academic qualifications, or both.

Entry requirements within this directory are a guide of our typical requirements – please note that the offer you are made will depend on your academic history and the qualifications you provide. Check our website for entry requirement equivalences before submitting an application. swansea.ac.uk/international-students/international-student-courses
