Gulf Print & Pack 2019 To Debut ‘Innovation Trail’ Gulf Print & Pack 2019 returned toWorldTrade Cen- tre in Dubai, United Emirites, April 15-18, introduc- ing the brand new “Innovation Trail” led by suppliers to the industry. Visitors were able to experience live demonstrations over the entire four days of the show. Also introduced at the show was a new Print Décor Lounge area, where visitors were able to experience the diverse possibilities of printing. Kiliper Corporation Orders W&H MIRAFLEX II Flexo Press Kiliper Corporation, Ames, Iowa, a manufacturer of stretch sleeves and polyethylene bags,ordered a MIRA- FLEX II flexographic press from Windmoeller & Hoe- lscher. The press will support the company’s stretch sleeve, polybag and toll printing production and is scheduled for start-up in the fourth quarter of 2019. The 25-year-old family company based in Ames, Iowa is run by second generation siblings,Tom Kiliper and Lindsay Kiliper-Maysent. Kiliper Corporation’s 32,000 -square-foot facility houses 12-inch to 48-inch 8-color printing capabilities, an in-house graphic design de- partment, laminating equipment as well as stretch and polybag converting machinery.
The 41-inch 8-color MIRAFLEX II press is equipped with W&H’s fully-integrated VISION web inspection system with Defect Check and Barcode Check, which provide the machine operator with real-time oversight and control of the job on press. For quick changeovers, the press will have EASY SET HD and S for fully-auto- matic impression setting and EASY REG M for auto- matic registration setting as well as the TURBOCLEAN inking and wash-up system. BST Eltromat Adds Register Control Features BST eltromat International has extended the func- tionality of its regi_star 20 register control system by adding two new features: RegiTouch and regi_com- mander. The two solutions make register control in flexo and gravure printing easier for machine opera- tors, speed up the set-up process, and reduce waste, according to the manufacturer. With RegiTouch machine operators can quickly and easily move the register marks for the printing units which need to be guided to the required positions either during make-ready or after non-format-related roll chang- es. The regi_commander acts as a remote control for the regi_star 20 register control system. It is installed at the printing units or at the tool stations of printing machines.
