Koenig & Bauer (SEA) organized a special road show and seminar for users and prospective cus- tomers last month. The objective of the event held in Kuala Lumpur was to inform the market on the latest trends and technical solutions that could help printers in the region to be- come more competitive and profitable in their business. In addition, the audience was brought up to date on current sheetfed,digital and flexo printing technologies. Beyond the core printing process, the participants were also provided with comprehensive information on the group’s portfolio of flatbed and rotary die-cut- ters, as well as the latest range of folder-gluers. Sustainable Packaging Coalition Rewards WestRock The Sustainable Packaging Coalition recognized WestRock Co., a provider of differentiated paper and packaging solutions, with its Innovator Award for the company’s work in improving the recyclability of foodservice packaging. The SPC is a membership-based collaborative that believes in the power of industry to make packaging more sustainable. Each year, the organization recogniz- es advancements toward more sustainable packaging through its SPC Innovator Awards. WestRock’s efforts to increase the recyclability of foodservice packaging include proving that there would be no disruption to the company’s operations from the addition of poly-coated foodservice packag- ing.The company now accepts foodservice packaging at all of its 100 percent recycled paperboard mills in the United States. “A large portion of paper-based foodservice packag- es are discarded in the United States each year, as his- torically, this packaging has not been widely accepted in recycling programs,” said Patrick Lindner, President of WestRock’s Consumer Packaging business. “We- stRock’s acceptance of foodservice packaging at its mills, as well as our research and development work on new, more recyclable and compostable packaging designs, exemplifies our commitment to finding ways to make packaging more sustainable.” Ink Additives Market To Reach $3.4 Billion By 2026 The global Ink Additives market size is estimated to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate above 5.5 percent over the forecast time frame 2019-2026 and reach the market value around $3.4 billion by 2026.
