BIBLEQUIZ True and False

The Christ o f Incomparable Glory (Continued from Page 12) Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.” Incomparable in the glory and pre eminence o f His present ministry o f intercession (Eph. 1:19, 20), our Lord should hold a unique place in the hearts and affections of His peo ple. Moment by moment, our precious Lord is engaged in His intercessory ministry, so that in times o f weak ness and threatened defeat, there comes a fresh impartation of grace, spiritual power and victory is experi enced, and the child o f God, instead of being crippled and broken, goes on his way rejoicing. What a won derful Lord! He not only gave His life to redeem us, but “ He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7 :25 ). “ Glories upon glories hath our God prepared, by the souls that love Him one day to be shared,” but no human heart can possibly concéive all that it will mean to share in the incompa rable glory of our Lord’s glorious re turn. He is coming back again, and, in a moment o f inexpressible delight, we shall see Him face to face, with nothing between, no veil to hide the unsullied loveliness o f His face! “ For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: who shall fashion anew the body o f our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body o f his glory” (Phil. 3:20, 21, R .V .). With what joyous anticipation we might ever be “ Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing o f the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2 :13 ). The glory o f the Lamb that was slain will be the glory of Emmanuel’s Land. There, the redeemed o f all ages, will join in the praises o f Him who loved us and gave Himself for us. “ And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof : for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out o f every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests . . . And that will not be easy!” Reference is made to a fire in one o f the dormitories which did not be come too serious, due to the prompt ness and efficiency o f the Fire De partment. Dr. Roberts quotes from Mr. Ebe- ling as follows: “ You will be sur prised at the small amount o f money we have used this month. It is be cause we have received, at last, the four months’ rent from the Univer sity at one time. This was paid in rice and meets the Orphanage needs just before harvest. Also we have sold some o f the too flowery cloth that we had on hand. We have made black trousers and white shirts, sport style, for all the orphans. I think they are very cute and serviceable. We have taken in a few more orphans from Christian groups as there is a great need now. The Christians are feeling the pinch along certain lines.” To his joy, Mrs. Roberts has now joined her husband in Hong Kong. The Ebelings and Gaussens are hold ing the line at Changsha. The Evan gelistic Bands will begin again in the fall; the Orphanage has a good pro gram with morning and evening wor ship, and the Institute will have its quota o f students. God is blessing. is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” Oh! that now we may encourage ourselves in the spiritual enjoyment o f meditation on the glories of our blest Redeemer, so that we may con stantly live in the anticipation of uniting with the ransomed millions in glory, who sing: “ Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood . . . to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.” The saintly Samuel Rutherford, who lived in times o f persecution, and over whose head hung the threat o f mar tyrdom, lived himself on the borders o f Emmanuel’s Land. It was from his writings, the words were composed: The bride eyes not her garment, But her dear Bridegroom’s face; I will not gaze on glory
