SUNDAY SCHOOL continued riches are moral, not material. It is the righteous, not the moneyed man, who is truly wealthy. Note who the blessed man is in Psa. 1. Contrast in Hypocrisy 13:7 One of the characteristics of the natural man is to act the hypocrite. In this verse there is the case of the poor man who feigns himself rich and the case of the rich man who feigns himself poor. God hates hypocrisy. It is the sin of pretension, acting out a lie. H ow much God hates it is seen in the judgment that 1 fell upon Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5 ). Let us face up to what w e really are and act accordingly. Contrasts in Attitudes 15:15-17 The sure cure for depression is to know the joy of the Lord. It is glory just to walk w ith H im . Such a one sees, not the waves, but the Lord (v. 13, 15). Noth ing can take the place of devotion to the Lord which makes the individual fear to do w rong or sidestep God’s w ill. A n y one if rich who knows and serves the Lord (y. 16). It is far better to be poor and have the love of God in the heart than to be rich with a fat ox ready to slaughter but have with it hatred in the heart. Contrast in Action 20:11, 12 It is true even of children that their actions betray their training. A good illustration of this is little Samuel in the tabernacle (1 Sam. 3:18-21). Much more is this true of those older in years. In order that conduct may be what it ought to be man needs “ the seeing eye and the hearing ear” which the Lord prom ises to give to receptive hearts. More Contrasts 22:1-4 These words need no comment even if space allowed. Th ey need simply to be observed and heeded. Helps For the Children Better Than Riches Prov. 15:15-17; 20:11, 12; 22:1-5, 9; 28:6-28 MEMORY VERSE: "A good name is rath er to be chosen than great riches; and loving favor rather than silver and gold" Prov. 22:1. Last week w e read about that which God’s W ord says is better than the mighty. Today we shall learn what God tells us is better than riches. You re member the story of how God chose David to be king over his people, do you not? The Israelites were looking on the outward appearance of the man whom they wished to be their king. God said to Samuel, the priest, “ Look not on his countenance [face] or on the height of his stature . . . for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord look eth on the heart” (1 Sam. 16:7). After God chose the shepherd boy, David, to be the new king, David often did wrong. He was always w illing to face the wrong doing and ask forgiveness and try to do the right thing again. f.û. ON JEWS and JUDAISM BY REV. M. ZEIDMAN ( Copyrighted )

EVANGELIZING THE JEWISH PEOPLE THE DUTY OF EVERY CHRISTIAN Q— Is there any good reason why the Gospel of Jesus the Messiah should be pro claimed to His own people the Jews? A — 1. There are many reasons, but chiefly the fact that God had an only begotten Son and He sent Him to preach to .the Jews. 2. Then there is the unprecedented spiritual deterioration. Jacob Bacht, an Israeli correspondent for the Jewish Newsletter says: "Unfortunately, it is several years already that the leaders of Israel have been witnessing a moral degeneration of Israeli youth. It is no secret and the entire Israeli press has written about it many times. Israeli youth is not what it was expected to be. It does not have the idealism which it had during the years of the Israeli-Arab war. Youth does not join the Zionist youth organizations. It is generally not interested in politics and in state problems. Zionism has become a mockery among Israeli youth. ‘You speak Zionism’ is equivalent now to saying 'you talk nonsense.’ "Israel is flooded with pornographic and semi-pornographic books and journals which are being read mostly by youth. The young people do not attend the various cultural institutions, but they fill the cinemas, cafes and various places of entertainment . . . It is this moral disintegration that is causing alarm to the leaders of Israel.” In fairness we wish to add that there is quite a revival of Rabbinical Judaism in Israel, but this ghetto religion does not appeal to the freedom-loving youth of Israel. Q— Wljat shall Israel and Jewish youth have? "Pornographic and semi-pomographic books and journals or the Gospel of Jeshua the Messiah? A — You can be the deciding factor! Lend your support to the spreading of the Gospel. The responsibility is yours as an individual Christian. For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” Your desire and your prayers are needed for the success of this Jewish missionary enterprise. „ "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
