The trip begins southward with a stop in Nauvoo, IL. At the Historic Nauvoo Visitors Center, see where numerous historic sites from the 1840's Mormon pioneers are preserved. Boxed lunches will be provided to enjoy on the way to Springfield’s Dana Thomas House. We’ll tour the house, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1902 for Susan Lawrence Dana, a forward-thinking socialite of the time. The house contains one of the largest collections of site-specific, original Wright glass and furniture! The group will check into

the hotel following the tour and then enjoy dinner together as a welcome to the land of Lincoln. Day two is full of sites relating to the history of Illinois and our country’s 16th president. The day begins at Lincoln Memorial Garden, followed by the Old State Capitol building, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library, lunch, and then Lincoln’s Tomb. The tomb is the final resting place of Abraham Lincoln, his wife Mary, and three of their four sons. After a full day of historical sightseeing, the group heads homeward with a last stop in Galesburg for dinner.
