Guerin, the oldest decorative hardware firm in the United States. It’s also the only known functioning metal foundry in New York City. And after being invited to spend a morning exploring its impressive archive and witnessing its team of skilled craftspeople at work, I could easily see why Kallista turned to P.E. Guerin to partner on the creation of their ONE collection with its signature hand-hammered handles. for the scrap heap, P.E. Guerin is not only preserving pieces of history, they’re holding on to the molds used to cast those pieces. That’s why when representatives from one of Henry Ford’s historic family homes came looking for help replacing its fixtures, P.E. Guerin was not only able to find samples that perfectly matched the home’s hardware, they were also able to make brand-new pieces from molds used to create the first versions of those century-old designs.
