LUSHING, NY — Na- tional manufacturer Crystal Window & Suitable for numerous applications Crystal launches new aluminum projected window line - Multi-Function Series 8500/8600 F

offers the ability to combine up to three windows of the same or varying styles in one grouping. “Our new Series 8500 alu- minum window line master frame allows property owners and designers to achieve the modern fenestration look so de- sired in today’s buildings while saving time, effort and money over traditional ‘stacking’ and ‘ganging’ of separate windows using mullions,” said Steve Chen , Crystal COO. “High end European style hardware, a face flange frame option, as well as custom trim and panning acces- sories ensure this new product line stands out from the crowd.”

and new construction applica- tions. The window line’s high AAMA ratings and continuous master frame position it as a cost effective step up from com- petitor products. The new Crystal 8500 Se- ries is available in four styles – out-swing casement (8500), fixed (8510), project-out awning (8520) and project-in hopper (8530). Standard with strong durable 2-⅝” depth frames and sashes, the line boasts AAMA architectural ratings from AW- PG80 to AW-PG100. Of great appeal to owners, architects and installers is the continu- ous single master frame which

The new Crystal Series 8500 windows use concealed four-bar stainless steel friction hinges and single operation stain- less steel multi-point locks for all casements and large size awnings and hoppers assur- ing smooth, secure operation. Double rows of bulb weather- stripping on the sashes keep out the elements. An integral pull handle on the sash is a standard feature on the case- ment window, and limit stops are an option. Also available are optional screens for all the operating windows. All Crystal products are finished using durable AAMA 2604 powder coat paints. The new Crystal windows feature 1” insulating glass with the PPG Intercept Ultra spacer system as standard. For even better thermal and sound attenuation performance, 1-¼” thick insulating glass units are an option. The 8600 Series replicates everything from the 8500 line as far as styles, features and op- tions, except it features a 3-¼” frame. The 3-¼” frame readily adapts to many building appli- cations, especially traditional window replacements. The larger frame size mulls easily with the other 3-¼” products in Crystal’s vast product line. In other news, Crystal Win- dow & Door Systems in con- junction with New York-Pres- byterian/Queens Hospital and the Chinese American Nursing Association recently launched a special health initiative for its employees. Over 70 Crystal employees volunteered to be test screened free of charge for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The New York- Presbyterian/Queens initiative seeks to promote health in the local community and with employees of area businesses. Coordinated by the Hospital’s Community Health Initiative senior director, Min-der Chang, Ph.D., Crystal Windows was the first joint initiative with the private business community by the hospital and will serve as a pilot for other future efforts. COPD is one of the leading causes of death and disability in the USA. Smoking is the major contributing cause of COPD. Crystal Windows in past years has offered and facilitated many other employee health initiatives, including smok- ing cessation programs and morning and noontime stretch exercise classes and free fruit for healthy workday snacking. n
