A large crowd of 160 people attended the Grand Finale of the TD 2019 Summer Reading Club on August 21, at the Jean-Marc Lalonde arena. Young and old had fun in the inflatable structures, enjoyed carnival games and feasted on hot dogs and hamburgers, courtesy of M&M Meat Shops. Participants also had the opportunity to cuddle some farm animals. “Old friends as well as new friends were able to hang out one last time before the end of the summer,” said Tania Arand, Acquisitions and Communications Coordinator for the Clarence-Rockland Public Library. “Over 250 Club members read 110,024 pages during the summer.” Pictured are the volunteers who manned the barbecue, feeding the many participants. Guest speakers: 1800675.6168 GUILLAUME PINEAULT PREMIÈRE PARTIE PAR JONATHAN DION EN PARTENARIAT AVEC VEN 13 SEP 20 H Plus de 150 personnes de la région, la plupart des jeunes, ont célébré la fin du club de lecture d’été TD 2019, le 21 aout dernier, à l’aréna Jean-Marc Lalonde de Rockland. Petits et grands se sont amusés dans des structures gonflables, des jeux de carnaval tout en savourant des hotdogs et des hamburgers offerts gracieusement par Les Aliments M&M. Les participants ont également eu l’occasion de câliner des animaux de la ferme. « Pour une dernière fois cet été, les membres du club ont passé un bon moment avec leurs nouveaux amis, a fait valoir Tania Arand, coordonnatrice de la communication et des acquisitions pour la Bibliothèque publique de Clarence-Rockland. Ce fut un grand plaisir pour nos animatrices de voir ces nouvelles amitiés se former au cours de l’été. Nous ne devons pas oublier l’immense travail de lecture de nos jeunes, avec plus de 250 inscriptions, 110 024 pages ont été lues cet été. » Ci-dessus, on reconnait les plus grands lecteurs du programme, soit Eva Glaude, Tyler Crawford, Maryam Soussi et Chaewoo Shim.
