Overall, the injury rate in 2021 increased, likely as a result of increased operations following coronavirus restrictions. Although the injury rate increased, it did not match 2019 levels. There were 9 injuries among refinery contractors in 2021, up from 4 in 2020. For a third year in a row, there were no injuries amongst marketing employees, and injuries amongst refinery employees decreased from 1 in 2020 to zero in 2021. Reported injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences (RIDDOR) >7 figures show the frequency of injuries in three downstream sector worker categories per 100 000 workers.
