More pumps, convenient location, and lower prices are some of the reasons that average throughput at hypermarket forecourts is consistently higher than at either dealer- or company-owned forecourts (Deloitte 2012). Average throughput at both hypermarket and company-owned decreased in 2021, by 0.15% and 0.3%, respectively, while average throughput at dealer-owned hypermarkets increased by 0.7% perhaps reflecting a preference for local purchases by customers due to coronavirus.
