2022 APEGA Annual Report

DRIVING ALBERTA FORWARD

We reimagined how we celebrate professional member and life member milestones in 2022. MILESTONES TO REMEMBER

On becoming a licensed professional

For the first time, our Member Milestones events brought together APEGA registrants at the beginning and the end of their professional journeys. In Calgary and Edmonton in June, newly licensed registrants swore their oaths, while seasoned registrants were honoured with lifetime member status. These celebrations were APEGA’s first in-person events in more than two years. Our Member Appreciation dinners, held in Calgary and Edmonton in October, recognized dedicated APEGA volunteers with long-service awards and celebrated APEGA registrants who received an Engineers Canada Fellowship.

“I have been given the responsibility to be ethical, professional, fair, and transparent through my processes. I can call myself a responsible person in the discipline and take care of the welfare of those I work with, whether it be stakeholders or clients.” — Nazmus Sakib, P.Eng.

On transitioning to lifetime membership

“I know our future is in good hands. I look at those young women and men becoming professional members with all the rights and responsibilities that brings, and I can tell they understand the importance of their impact.” — Dave Rumbold, P.Eng., FEC, FGC (Hon.)
