There were two new inductees to the VCI Wall of Fame onThursday night. Steve Barton presented a plaque for Mark Mahon. The plaque was accepted by Mahon’s brother, Ried, as he was in Germany at the time. Mayor Gary Barton presented the second plaque to Judith LeRoy who gracefully accepted the plaque. Anika Talukder also won the Ontario Principal’s Council Award, Principal’s Trophy and Centennial bursary, and the Valedictorian Recognition Award. Talukder gave an inspiring speech to classmates, thanking parents and teachers. She thanked teachers for giving the students a solid foundation. She told parents they would one day appreciate the advice they had ignored and that students were leaving high school on a positive note.
