OT game goes to the Rockets

Everybody was scoring when the Vankleek Hill Cougars and the North Dundas Rock- ets squared off over the first weekend of February. The final decision on the game depended on an overtime scoring oppor- tunity. The Rockets edged past the Cougars in the end with a 6-5 win in overtime, during last Saturday night’s game in the National Capital Junior Hockey League at the Chesterville & District Arena. Both teams notched points on the score- board during the regular periods, forcing the match into OT. Marc-Antoine Doyon and Riley Sauvé each punched in a pair of goals for Vankleek Hill with Ryan Allen finishing off the Cou- gars’ scoring. Goal assistance came fromDoyon, Sauvé, Nikolas Ayotte, Tyler Druce, Samuel Fourni- er, Trystan Lavoie, and Nicolas Morin. An- thony Vassall kept guard on the Cougars’ net. Scoring single points each for NorthDun- das were Cam Dystra, Christopher March- and, LiamMorrow, BrandonMulin, Shawn Simms, and Landon Veenstra. Goal assists came from Dykstra, March- and, Mulin, Simms, Veenstra, and Bryden van Kessel. Jason Buma protected the Rock- ets’ net. Next games on the February schedule for the Cougars are both at home, this Friday and Saturday, first against the Cumberland Bandits and then the Papineauville Vikings.
