Ontario Power Generation Inc. has applied to the Ontario Energy Board with a plan to increase the amount it charges for the output of its nuclear generating facilities and most of its hydroelectric generating facilities in each of the five years beginning on January 1, 2017 and ending on December 31, 2021. If the Ontario Energy Board approved the application as filed, Ontario Power Generation has calculated that the monthly bill for the typical residential customer using 750 kWh of electricity per month would change by the following amounts: 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 -$1.29 $1.73 $1.07 $1.86 $1.89 Other customers, including businesses, will be affected as well. THE ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD IS HOLDING A PUBLIC HEARING The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) will hold a public hearing to consider Ontario Power Generation’s request. We will question the company on its case for a payment amount increase. We will also hear questions and arguments from individuals and from groups that represent consumers of electricity. At the end of this hearing, the OEB will decide what, if any, increase will be allowed. If Ontario Power Generation’s application is approved, the OEB’s subsequent review in the years 2018 through 2021 may be limited to applying a formula that is tied to inflation and to ensuring certain annual adjustments are made in accordance with the approved payment amount plan. You may not receive further notice of those adjustments. The OEB is an independent and impartial public agency. We make decisions that serve the public interest. Our goal is to promote a financially viable and efficient energy sector that provides you with reliable energy services at a reasonable cost. BE INFORMED AND HAVE YOUR SAY You have the right to information regarding this application and to be involved in the process: • You can review Ontario Power Generation’s application on the OEB’s website now. • You can file a letter with your comments, which will be considered during the hearing. • You can become an active participant (called an intervenor). Apply by July 26, 2016 or the hearing will go ahead without you and you will not receive any further notice of the proceeding. • At the end of the process, you can review the OEB’s decision and its reasons on our website. Le Festival western, organisé par le Club Optimiste, envahit Wendover pour une 32 e édition cette semaine et offre des activités et des divertissements pour toute la famille. Le tout a commencé au Centre commu- nautaire Lucien-Delorme avec un whist militaire en soirée, le mardi 12 juillet, et a continué avec une visite au Zoo Papanack lemercredi 13 juillet. En soirée, la troupe de théâtre Markalou a présenté la pièce Last Call. Aujourd’hui, le jeudi 14 juillet, les festi- vités se poursuivent avec le Party des cam- peurs pendant la journée ainsi que le début des prestations musicales dès 19 h avec Syl- vain Dubois, Kathy Lavigne et autres. La musique reprendra le vendredi 15 juillet à partir de 13 h. Sophie Richard, Jay Lafrenière et le Coco Country Band seront parmi ceux qui se rendront sur scène. Un souper Saint-Hubert sera aussi disponible en soirée. En début de journée le samedi 16 juillet, des chevaux et chars allégoriques défileront dans les rues du village dans la cadre du défi- lé annuel du festival. Réjean Lavertue, Marc- André Lemieux et plusieurs autres s’occu- peront du divertissement musical jusqu’à l’heure du souper après quoi ils laisseront la place aux invités d’origine acadienne tels que Brian Mallery et Paul Dwayne. Pour clore le festival, une messe ‘wes- tern’ aura lieu sous le grand chapiteau le dimanche 17 juillet avant de laisser place à la musique. Les derniers à monter sur scène en après-midi seront Les Cousins Branchaud, André Brazeau, Rhéal Leblanc et Steve Desmarais. De plus, un tournoi de pétanque, une foire artisanale ainsi que de la danse en ligne figureront aussi parmi les activités offertes au cours du festival.
