It is irresistible because of its sunny days on the Štrand, be- cause of Danube Park, the unre- al greenery of its very centre, its exciting nightlife that goes ’til dawn, the fact that you can eat for any money in its kafana inns; because it still looks like an aut- hentic Vojvodina town, because of tambouritza music and salaš farmsteads; because of the Exit Festival, Sterija’s Theatre, Jovan Jovanović ’Zmaj’ and many other famous people; because life mo- ves slowly there and homemade
noodles are still made by hand... There are a million reasons why Novi Sad is special. It en- tered the final under the slogan “For new bridges”, after which it beat off the challenge of Her- ceg Novi to become the capital of culture among the selected ci- ties from EU membership can- didate countries. Bridges were an inspiration because 21 diffe- rent national communities live in Novi Sad. This multiculturali- sm also makes Novi Sad a magi- cal place.

U finale je ušao pod sloganom „Za nove mostove“, po- tom je pobedio Herceg Novi i tako postao prestonica kulture u selekciji gradova koji dolaze iz zemalja kan- didata za članstvo u Evropskoj uniji. Mostovi su bili inspiracija zbog toga što u Novom Sadu živi 21 na- cionalna zajednica. Ta multikulturalnost takođe čini Novi Sad magičnim gradom.
