Dispensary Technician I Do you have an interest in wellness and would you en- joy providing excellent customer service in a medical dispensary? If so, you may be interested in a career in the new and rapidly growing medical cannabis industry. There are already over 100 dispensaries in Maryland and the demand for qualified Dispensary Technicians is increasing. This course is the first of two in a series and provides the training you need to work in a medical cannabis dispensary. You will learn an overview of the Dispensary Technician’s role, practice professional skills and responsibilities involved in day- to-day operations, and learn the Maryland regulations for dispensary operations including security, inven- tory management, software types, recordkeeping, patient management from check-in to check-out, and follow-up. Class sessions are conducted in Zoom and Canvas; you will receive links and instructions one week before the class begins. Registration of Dispensary Technician I & II is required to earn the Dispensary Technician certificate. Note: Maryland State regulations require dispensary employees to be 21 years or older.

Become a Dispensary Technician through this two-course series. You will learn about the responsibilities of a Dispensary Tech, and the Maryland regulations for dispen- sary operations. You will also research the medicinal properties of cannabis to understand the use of medical cannabis for wellness. Dispensary Technician II This course is the second in a series and is designed to provide occupational training to work in a medical cannabis dispensary. This course focuses on medicinal knowledge, patient care, and education aspects of the Dispensary Technician’s role. Topics include recent research on medicinal cannabis, medicinal properties of cannabis, managing the patient experience, coun- seling methodology and practices. Class sessions are conducted in Zoom and Canvas; you will receive links and instructions one week before the class begins.
