Ako držite oči otvorene, uživaćete i u ču- desnoj uličnoj umetnosti. Čak postoji i knjiga o tome. What do you love the most about Belgrade? Spending my weekends here. There's always some- thing to do in Belgrade and it's a city you have to get to know. At first glance, Belgrade might not be as attrac- tive as other capitals, but dig deeper, explore and you'll uncover really unique places to eat, drink and enjoy! As an example, the momentum within the creative community has picked up so that, most weekends, you can find a lot of independent galleries, hubs and spac- es that hold festivals to do with arts, food and drink. Recently, there was a craft beer festival and a Balkan cheese festival, both of which were really well attend- ed; also, I know there are wine and Rakija festivals every year. Compared to other European capitals, Belgrade is a unique mix of East and West. For example, some archi- tecture reminds me of Barcelona in the older parts of the city. Then I’m reminded that I’m Eastside by seeing the domes of the Orthodox churches nestled amongst brutalist concrete architecture with cyrillic signs. That’s one example but there’s more contrast here than in most European cities that I’ve visited; you’ll see very expensive cars driving down the street next to very old but beautiful trams. For me, I like that. I like the fact that I get jolted into realising I’m not in any other city. I’m in Belgrade and I am happy to be here. How different is Belgrade to other European capitals?
