ALZHEIMER’S SUPPORT Jennifer Unger, Executive Director Alzheimer’s Alliance Tri-State Area S ince 1981, when a handful of Texarkana families first gathered in a living room to lean on one another, the Alzheimer’s Alliance Tri-State Area has been a lifeline for those facing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Today, the Alliance serves a 22-county region with support groups, caregiver education,

and its cornerstone program, Our Place Day Respite Center, where loved ones spend the day in a safe, joyful setting while their caregivers rest, work, or simply catch their breath. None of it would be possible without the Twice as Fine Texarkana Wine Festival, which fills Spring Lake Park each spring with Texas wineries, artisan vendors, food, and live music. Every dollar raised stays right here at home. Mark your calendar for May 1, 2027. Now leading the Alliance is Executive Director Jennifer Unger, who brings more than two decades of nonprofit leadership and a rare gift for rallying a community around a cause. Under her guidance, the Alliance is poised to reach more families than ever, making sure that when a diagnosis comes, help is close by, and the road ahead is a little easier to walk.
