THE KING’S BUSINESS

Army and for several years active in the army branch of the Y. M. C. A. work, has been engaged as one of the soloists and workers and will be heard especially at the Bowling Green and City Postoffice meet ings at noon, and at Central Park and Mad ison Square meetings in the evening. An innovation this year in the Institute’s out door work is the Children’s Services, with songs and illustrated sermons. Last Sunday afternoon about thirty children, mainly Italian, from the Living Waters Mission at 291 Third avenue, marched with flags and colors flying to the Fifty-ninth- street entrance to Central Park, and forming a group at the curbstone for half an hour sang Gospel songs under the leadership of a worker from the National Bible Institute. These Children’s Outdoor Services will be held every Sunday, from four to four-thirty, in various parts of the city. Children from the various missions conducted by the Na tional Bible Institute will sing, and a short illustrated sermon will be given by popula,r speakers. H elp us , who toil amid unlovely races Whelmed and embittered by enfolding night, To glimpse through dusky-hued, forbidden faces A glowing Visage of incarnate light. Help us, who touch the wound that gaps and lingers With healing balm that serves the futile hour, To feel astir in thrilled and eager fingers The pulsing of a great Physician’s power. Help us, who hear the cries of helpless, sorrow From prisoned hearts in mournful ca dence ring, By faith to hearken, till love’s glad tomor row, For conquering footfalls of a Saviour- King .—A Missionary's Prayer. —H. A. Walter.

today there is a good spirit in the Church, souls are again being saved. A prominent missionary secretary and others are speaking of the Roman Church as a sister Church. Such language is used of the Devil to destroy interest in Catholic fields. We need a constituency, an en lightened one that knows Rome as the Holy Spirit pictures her in Revelations 17 and 18, the greatest element of apostate Chris tendom. Do you believe that a system that says of a piece of bread, “Thou art my God,” that says of Mary, “Thou art the door of hope,” that says that outside of HER portals there is no salvation, that makes sinning easy by the confessional, that makes impossible the thought of personal holiness in life today by teaching that the saints of old had a surplus, that can be applied to those who are therein deficient in the present age, is a sister church? Let me plead with you that you enlighten your self; that you subscribe for the Converted .Catholic, New York City, or write to the Gospel Union, Euclid and Seventh streets. Kansas City, Missouri, for free tracts ex posing Rome’s errors; that you take upon your heart afresh this needy priest-ridden, Rome blighted land of Central America, as quite as needy and lost as any corner of Africa, India or China. Will you stand by us? Will you know the truth? Will you help evangelize Central America? Will you believe the truth about Rome? Will you help to enlighten others? Will you stand the persecution of Rome’s friends in the States as we have to stand her op pression here? If you are faithful and we are faithful this land can be evangelized in the present generation.” T he outdoor evangelistic services con ducted every year by the National Bible In stitute, 1S6 Fifth Ave., N. Y., are in full swing. Meetings are scattered from the Bat tery at the extreme south of Manhattan to the Bronx on the extreme north, while plans are being considered for the further exten sion of the work before the summer closes.
