i drugih mlaznih aviona? What is the difference between the ATR and other jet aircraft?

V elika je razlika između ATR-a i drugih većih mlaznih aviona. Prvo, mnogo je zahtevnije leteti na turbo-prop, tj. manjim mlaznim avionima jer su njihove performanse lošije nego na većim avionima. Zbog manje snage samih motora piloti moraju da razmišljaju kako da nadvise prepreke u poletanju. To je razlog zbog kojih su i same procedure komplikovanije. Drugo, visine na kojima lete turbo-prop avioni znatno su manje i najčešće prepune oblaka, koje stalno treba obilaziti pošto ih je najčešće nemoguće preskočiti. Takođe, pilot ATR-a mora dobro da poznaje meteorologiju da bi umeo da prepozna, ali i da izbegne opasne situacije. Neretko se dešava da se avion nađe u turbulentnim slojevima vazduha, što najčešće izaziva strah i neprijat- nost kod ljudi, ali ih ovim putem uveravam da nemaju razloga za strah. To je normalno okruženje u kojem leti ATR. Ovo je veoma bezbedan avion zbog mnogih dupli- ranih sistema, a poznat je i kao mali potrošač. Zato je za- nimljiv mnogim kompanijama. Ljudi, uglavnom, kada vide ovaj avion, zbog propelera pomisle da lete nekim starijim generacijama vazduhoplova, ali ATR ima isto mlazni motor kao i veliki avioni samo u drugačijoj kon- figuraciji. Buka koja dolazi od propelera je neminovna i uobičajena i rezultat je opstrujavanja vazduha oko eli- sa. U celom svetu se smatra da je ATR jedan od bezbed- nijih aviona.

T here is a big difference between the ATR and other large jet aircraft. First, it is much more demanding to fly a turboprop, i.e. smaller propeller jets, because they are less powerful than larger planes. Due to the lower power of the engine itself, pilots have to consider how to overcome obstacles during takeoff. This is the reason why the procedu- res themselves are more complicated. Secondly, the altitudes at which turboprops are operated are much lower and usually full of clouds, which you constantly need to bypass, because it is usually impossible to jump over them. Likewise, an ATR pilot must be very familiar with meteorology, in order to be able to recognise, but also avoid, any risky situations. It often occurs that the plane finds itself in turbulent lay- ers of air that can cause fear and discomfort among passen- gers, but here I would like to reassure travellers that they have no reason to be worried. This is normal for the altitudes at which the ATR flies. This is a very safe aircraft due to many secondary backup systems, and it is also known for its low fu- el consumption. That’s why it is such an attractive aircraft for many airlines. When people see this plane they generally think, due to the propeller, that they are flying on some older generation of aircraft, but the ATR has the same jet engines as large planes, just in a different configuration. The noise com- ing from the propeller is inevitable and the ordinary result of air flow around the blades. The ATR is considered worldwide as one of the safest aircraft.
