A nte la importancia de la ciencia en la sociedad, junto con las consecuencias beneficiosas y negativas que ha significado para la humanidad, surge la necesidad de repensar sus alcances y significado. En esta línea, la autora se interesa por mostrar la dimensión humana de la ciencia, aspecto que ha sido poco abordado debido a la preferencia de la filosofía de la ciencia contemporánea por los temas relacionados con la metodología y la epistemología, y se refiere a la apertura de la ciencia hacia lo trascendental, en la medida en que a partir de ella es posible ascender al fundamento de lo real. Por otra parte, hace énfasis en el concepto dominante de razón en la Modernidad, que se identifica con la racionalidad empírico- matemática y no con el bien y la verdad, lo cual ha sido nefasto para la sociedad. Given the importance of science in society, together with the beneficial and negative consequences that it has meant for humanity, there is a need to rethink its scope and meaning. In this line, the author is interested in showing the human dimension of science, an aspect that has been little addressed due to the philosophy of contemporary science’s preference for issues related to methodology and epistemology, and refers to the opening of science to the transcendental, insofar as it is possible to ascend from it to the foundation of that which is real. On the other hand, it emphasizes the dominant concept of reason in Modernity, which is identified with empirical-mathematical rationality and not with the right and the truth, which has been unfortunate for the society.
