Before students returned to school this fall, Shell Point residents joined together to support employees and their families with the annual School Supply Fund Drive. Led by Jeanne Carguilo (Turban) and Bonita Wilkins (Royal Bon- net), the fundraiser was created to help ease the financial burden of back-to-school shopping while ensuring students had the tools they needed to start the year off right.
Through resident generosity, this year’s drive raised an impressive $35,602. The committee assembled 375 school supply bags filled with over $40 worth of essentials like pens, pencils, mark- ers, scissors, and folders. A total of 315 employees received bags for their children or grandchildren. The drive was powered by 55 volunteers who organized and prepared the supplies for distribu- tion. “The School Supply Fund Drive is a perfect example of the community coming together to support Shell Point employees and their children,” said Bonita. Jeanne added, “We are very grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this year another success!” Making the Grade Sebastian, Michael & Adrian Fasone Gallegos
